Actors will receive daily instruction in choreography, voice and acting from professional artists, while the technical theatre students will work alongside professional technicians to learn production, sound, lighting, props, costuming and more! This year's camp is a fully produced performance of LEGENDS! Legends is an original jukebox-style musical that showcases our students as entertainment icons who come together to raise funds for the arts. They will learn about ICONIC and LEGENDARY actors and musicians in an exciting, educational and entertaining way. The three-week intensive will culminate in a showcase production where campers demonstrate their performance and costume-making skills in front of a live audience of family and friends on Friday, June 28 at 7pm in the Jo Long Theatre!!
CAMP COMPONENTS: Dance session, music sessions, acting sessions, technical, mask workshop, creative costuming workshop, performance workshop, rehearsals and an end-of-camp PERFORMANCE!
THE PERFORMANCE WORKSHOP: We will combine a variety of monologues, scenes and songs from different musical and acting legends to create a one-of-a-kind, completely EXCLUSIVE AND MAGICAL Carver Summer Theatre Intensive!
THE CREATIVE COSTUMING WORKSHOP: The Costume Workshop enables campers the exploration of the technical and creative processes of costume building using various fabrics and trims without the use of sewing machines. The techniques are safe and easily accessible for students of all ages. They include the use of gluing, hand-stitching, tying and other no sew techniques.
