Dancer Audition Registration, Rennie Harris' Lifted!

The Carver Community Cultural Center has an opportunity for experienced House and/or hip-hop dancers to perform with the renowned Rennie Harris Puremovement dance company at the Jo Long Theatre on Saturday, April 13 at 8 p.m. Two dancers will be selected to perform with the company in “Lifted!" during its San Antonio performance at The Carver Center.

Dancers will be selected based upon a review of online video submissions of each applicant performing 60-90 seconds of pre-selected choreography from the show. The choreography is available to view here. Only video auditions containing the required choreography will be considered.

Online audition submissions must be completed by 5 p.m. Friday, March 29, 2019. Selected dancers will be notified by Tuesday, April 2, 2019,  by phone or email. Selected dancers must be able to attend three- to four-hour daily rehearsals, April 8-12. Rehearsal times will be scheduled with the dancers.

Application Process

• Review Mirror choreography videos.
• Select choreography from one of the four videos.
• Record a video of yourself performing the choreography demonstrated in your chosen video.
• Post your video online (YouTube, Vimeo, etc.), setting visibility to public or shared.
• Begin the application by selecting the "Enroll & Pay" button in the bottom right corner of this page [There is no payment or fee associated with the application.]
• Complete the application, including a link to your video.
